Ruptured AAA

About 6000 men a year die from ruptured AAA in England and Wales. This accounts for 2% of deaths in men.

AAA screening has been introduced to reduce deaths from ruptured AAA. Screening is not offered to women, as the incidence of this condition is low and hence it is not cost effective.
